Anglia Ruskin University Chooses Bluesocket for Campus-Wide Wireless Expansion

Las Vegas, Nev. – Interop 2008 – April 29, 2008 —Bluesocket, the leader in trusted wireless access and enterprise mobility, today announced that Anglia Ruskin University is deploying Bluesocket wireless and mobility throughout two campuses in Cambridge and Chelmsford, England. The solution - including Bluesocket’s new BSAP-1800 802.11n Access Points - will create an all-wireless campus with improved scalability, reliability and control while paving the way for a complete 802.11n environment.

Anglia Ruskin University recently expanded its wireless access for students and faculty with 100 Bluesocket BSAP-1540 802.11 a/b/g APs and BSC-5200 Controllers, giving the IT administration centralized control and ease of management across a secure wireless network.  Anglia Ruskin is now preparing for a complete 802.11n wireless transition in their new state-of-the-art Faculty Building. This initial phase brings the next generation of wireless access to the campus while paving the way for the university’s adoption of 802.11n technology.

“Our commitment to Bluesocket comes from a long standing relationship and a 100 percent satisfaction rate,” said Steve Heppolette, Infrastructure Engineer for Anglia Ruskin University. “The Bluesocket 802.11n products will bring a new level of wireless access and performance to our university, and will pave the way for our adoption of many new and exciting wireless applications and teaching tools.

Bluesocket solutions provide a scalable, secure and reliable wireless network, delivering a clear and cost-effective path to 802.11n expansion while creating a solid foundation for a robust next-generation enterprise mobility infrastructure.  Announced in December 2007 and available now, the BSAP-1800 is the first enterprise-grade with 2nd generation MIMO antenna technology, offering customers market-proven performance and coverage advantages.  It also delivers full-feature performance with a single-port Power over Ethernet (PoE) solution, reducing deployment costs and eliminating the need for customer to make trade-off decision between performance, security, and other critical wireless network functions that other vendor products force.

“Our approach to 802.11n helps simplify customer decisions by creating a future proof environment that supports a seamless transition to 802.11n when they’re ready,” said Mads Lillelund, CEO of Bluesocket.  “Anglia Ruskin University had the foresight to plan and deploy a robust and adaptable wireless network years ago. We’re proud to help execute their continued innovative vision.”

The BSAP-1800 is completely plug-and-play, offers Bluesocket’s DynamicRF™ technology and requires no manual configuration. It includes two 11n-based dual bands radios, a custom embedded antenna array with options for external antennas. The BSAP-1800 is available now through Bluesocket reseller partners.  For more on the BSAP-1800 and Bluesocket’s entire 802.11n-ready BlueSecure product family, please contact your preferred Bluesocket reseller or call Bluesocket Sales at 866-633-3358.

Bluesocket is also demonstrating its full 802.11n WLAN solution at booth #975 at the Interop 2008 conference, Las Vegas, NV April 29-May 1.
