Voice over WLAN Engineer

As a member of the Access Point development team, you will be responsible to design and implement voice features for Bluesocket’s wireless products. Your primary responsibility will be the radio driver and 802.11 protocol; however, you will be given the opportunity to contribute in many aspects of the wireless products.

The candidate should be interested in working on a small, focused team in a fast paced dynamic environment.

Required Skills:

  • BS and (MS a plus) in computer science or computer/electrical engineering with 5 to 7 years of development work experience
  • Working knowledge of 802.11 protocol
  • Solid knowledge of Linux kernel and device drivers in an embedded environment
  • Knowledge of 802.11 QoS protocols (WMM, 802.11e)
  • Knowledge 802.11 Security Protocols
  • Candidates should be self-directed and able to drive issues to resolution
  • Team-oriented with good organizational skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of network protocols: IP, UDP, TCP, DHCP, Ethernet, and VLANs
  • Wireless chipset driver development (Atheros, Airgo, Broadcom, or Conexant)
  • Experience with PowerPC or MIPS processors
