The BSAP-1800 complements Bluesocket’s existing 802.11n-ready BlueSecure Controller family and Edge-to-Edge™ direct forwarding architecture and has achieved 802.11n draft 2.0 WiFi Alliance certification, ensuring interoperability with standards-based WLAN solutions. Further, the unique ability of the Bluesocket WLAN solution to manage both Bluesocket Access Points and a wide variety of 3rd party APs allows customers to cost effectively transition from their existing WLAN environments to next-generation 802.11n networks and emerging mobility applications without the need for an all-or-nothing infrastructure upgrade.

Robust User Support and Unmatched Performance
Unlike other 802.11n Access Points that require multiple PoE ports or deliver reduced features based on power consumption, the BSAP-1800 delivers a full feature solution with a single 802.3af compliant PoE connector. This breakthrough capability will enable the vast majority of customer deployments to take advantage of full 3x3 MIMO performance without the need for a costly PoE infrastructure upgrade.

Bluesocket’s 802.11n solution includes two Access Point models. Available now, the dual radio BSAP-1800 includes a custom embedded antenna array supporting 802.11a/n and 802.11b/g/n. The second model, available later in the second quarter of 2008, provides external antenna options and a/b/g/n/ support on both radios. Both models are configurable to support 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands, allowing customers to segment data, voice and other applications based on their individual business requirements.
