Bluesocket Closes 2007 with High Marks for Innovation and Growth

Burlington, Mass., December 20, 2007 – Bluesocket, Inc., the leader in trusted wireless access and enterprise mobility, today announced that the execution of its growth strategy and continued product innovation have resulted in significant customer wins, partnership development and product advancements leading into 2008.  These achievements are a testament to Bluesocket’s strong momentum and innovation throughout 2007 and underscore the company’s unique market position following its July 2007 acquisition of Pingtel, a leading provider of SIP-based communications solutions.

Adding to its achievements, an evaluation based on the ability to execute and completeness of vision has positioned Bluesocket in the “Magic Quadrant for Wireless LAN Infrastructure, 2007” issued by research firm Gartner Inc.1  According to the report “Wireless LAN technologies have earned a place in enterprise IT; no longer relegated to conference rooms and warehouses, deployments now cover entire campuses. Vendors have developed their products to answer the stringent technology, management and security requirements of the enterprise.”

“In my opinion, our placement by Gartner is a direct result of significant company growth, the evolution of our fully featured wireless LAN product line, and the completion of the Pingtel acquisition, which was a pivotal achievement for Bluesocket this year,” said Mads Lillelund, CEO and president of Bluesocket. “The opportunity resulting from this acquisition is just one example of a year marked by strong revenue growth and financing, as well acceleration in our product innovation, partnerships and customer wins. The successes we’ve achieved to date have put us at the forefront of the WLAN and mobile industry and give us a significant lead over our competitors as we enter 2008.”

Pioneering Next-Generation Technology
Bluesocket advanced its technology leadership this year by enhancing its award-winning WLAN and Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions in key critical technology areas, including 802.11n, Secure Mobility®, application QoS and SIP-based VoIP communications.

In addition to several successful product releases, Bluesocket recently announced its Virtual Wireless LAN (vWLAN™) architecture, which unifies wireless and existing wired networks to produce a truly integrated, scalable and cost effective networking solution for enterprise customers and OEMs. Also of note, the company announced it will introduce its 802.11n draft 2.0 Access Point in early 2008, leveraging its experience with the deployment of more than 1,000 units of its MIMO AP product in 2007.

In July, Bluesocket incorporated Pingtel’s leading SIP-based enterprise communications offerings into its product portfolio, catapulting the company to a leadership position in delivering complete enterprise mobility solutions that combine both secure wireless LAN and VoIP.

Advancing Significant Customer Growth
Bluesocket’s market growth continues with very good traction among higher education and healthcare vertical markets. Surpassing the 3,000 customer mark in 2007, other key markets fueling the company’s momentum include enterprise, hospitality and public access.

A recent review of wireless solutions for the SME market conducted by Network Computing placed the Bluesocket BlueSecure WLAN solution on the Network Computing “Short List.” Citing “decidedly strong” security and the most “well-rounded” of all guest access services, Network Computing identified Bluesocket as “an especially attractive proposition” for customers.

Among the hundreds of customers deploying Bluesocket solutions during 2007 were the 2007 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox, Monsignor Donovan High School (MDHS), Pennsylvania General Energy (PGE), Southcoast Health System, and Kronos Incorporated.

Increasing Channel Visibility
Emphasizing Bluesocket's ongoing commitment to hundreds of partners selling and supporting its complete line of WLAN and mobility solutions worldwide, the company announced a new channel partner program in June. The new program offers partners access to market-leading wireless and mobility solutions, high gross profit margins, technical training and joint marketing programs, ultimately helping them to identify and win new business. More than 25 new reseller partners have joined the program since its launch and are experiencing as much as 75 percent year-over-year growth in their WLAN solution sales.

Key additions to the program include Innovational IP Solutions, a provider of integrated, turnkey IP solutions; Minerva, one of the Middle East's leading distributors of wireless products; and information security solutions and consulting provider TDec Network Group, signed to represent Bluesocket in Brazil. Other partners joining the program in 2007 include Cascade Networks/Last Mile Gear, i-Linc Wireless Solutions, Innovative Voice Technologies, ICON Information Technology, Watchcom Security Group AS and Axivia GmbH.

“2007 has been a year of meaningful progress for Bluesocket. Looking forward, our continued emphasis on technological innovation, customer retention and acquisition, and sensible channel expansion will serve us well. Our new 802.11n products, next-generation WLAN architecture and emerging leadership position in the SIP-based voice solutions market will deliver unmatched value and opportunity to our customers and partners across all market segments and geographies,” added Lillelund.
