BURLINGTON, Mass --- January 3, 2002
Bluesocket Inc., the fast-growing developer of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) solutions for securely connecting and managing wireless devices to corporate networks and the Internet, today announced that it has signed Rockwall, Texas-based Genesta to sell and support its WLAN product line.
The Genesta Partnership is a wireless systems integrator specializing in solutions for distribution, transportation, retail, logistics, and integration for clients ranging from Associated Grocers and The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) to Con Edison and Mary Kay Cosmetics. The company’s founders have specialized in manufacturing and warehousing applications for radio frequency technology since its inception in the late 1980's. Genesta was founded in 1995 in order to provide a broad range of wireless solutions for data collection and warehouse systems.
"Genesta has succeeded by assembling a collection of committed professionals with extensive wireless industry experience," said Joost de Jong, VP of Sales, Bluesocket. "We are very excited to be working with Genesta’s experts to provide their clients with a secure WLAN management solution to augment their product and service solutions for portable data collection and networking."
"Bluesocket’s WG-1000 is the best product on the market for managing and securing wireless networks," said Kelson Elam, Managing Partner of Genesta. "We evaluated competitors’ offerings but found Bluesocket’s product was not only the superior technology, but easier to support and maintain. Our customers will be especially interested in how Bluesocket’s Secure Mobility™ will now enable their users to stay connected throughout their enterprise in a secure manner."
Bluesocket’s flagship product, the WG-1000 Wireless Gateway offers a scalable, single component solution for solving the security, class of service (CoS), and management issues facing enterprises and service providers who are deploying IEEE 802.11b (aka Wi-Fi) and Bluetooth-based wireless networks. The WG-1000 is RF-standards-agnostic and is also compatible with future WLAN standards, such as 802.11a, 802.11g, 802.11x and HiperLAN2. Configured via a Web browser, the WG-1000 Wireless Gateway sits between an enterprise's access points (wireless base stations) and the rest of the network, acting as a gateway between wireless and wired components.
