BURLINGTON, Mass. - February 14, 2007 - Bluesocket, Inc., (www.bluesocket.com) the leader in open wireless network, security and management solutions, today announced record revenue for the fiscal year 2006, which ended on December 31, 2006, with a 60 percent increase in revenue in the fourth quarter versus the first quarter.
"Bluesocket's enhanced Wireless LAN product line and growing customer base directly contributed to the company's robust success in 2006," said Mads Lillelund, President & CEO at Bluesocket. "Our leadership in wireless security, guest access management, MIMO access point technology and ease of installation has helped us deliver superior solutions and service to our customers. We continue to innovate on all fronts within the LAN mobility space and will be introducing new products in Q1 of 2007."
In 2006, Bluesocket saw steady, strong sales of its BlueSecure Controllers, while sales of its BlueSecure Access Points tripled over the previous year. In addition to signing on more than 110 new customers each quarter of 2006, Bluesocket penetrated new vertical markets such as hospitality and public access. Customers that deployed the BlueSecure product line in 2006 include:
- City of Malden to secure and manage the first municipal metro-scale mesh network in Massachusetts
- Smart City to provide user authentication and Internet bandwidth control at 13 major convention centers across the US

Capping off 2006, the company announced a partnership with Vocera to incorporate Bluesocket's VoIP security and QoS technology with Vocera Communications Badges, providing healthcare professionals instant voice communications access via their wireless infrastructures.
"We have always had a significant presence in the healthcare and education segments - and we'll continue to do so," continued Lillelund. "However, more and more, we are finding that customers in the hospitality and public access sectors are deploying Bluesocket's award-winning security capabilities to further enhance their wireless communications. We are also seeing early traction in the financial services vertical due to our technology leadership in wireless security. We are pleased to be able to expand our customer base to include these markets and will be announcing similar deployments in the months to come."
In the midst of its record quarter, Bluesocket also strengthened its channel program by securing a distribution agreement with Exclusive Networks, one of the major IT distributors in France, as well as Sphinx, one of the UK's leading IT distributors specializing in security and networking.
"2007 is going to be a big year for the wireless industry as a whole," said Aaron Vance, Senior Analyst at Synergy Research Group. "Enterprises plan to allocate a significant portion of their IT budgets to WLAN technologies this year. Bluesocket's solid product portfolio and customer base, along with its growth numbers in 2006, put the company in a favorable position to benefit from this industry trend."
