vWLAN® branch leverages Bluesocket's vWLAN(r) distributed
architecture, identity based routing and bridge forwarding data at the
edge of the network. By eliminating the need to send data back to the
controller you can eliminate bottlenecks and data can be routed more
efficiently at the edge, thus increasing overall throughput and
performance.
Controller solutions are at their most expensive in branch
office deployments because the cost of the controller can often only be
spread across a small number of APs. In Bluesocket
deployments the distributed architecture removes unnecessary and costly
hardware from the network.
vWLAN® branch optimizes security for branch office deployments with Identity based forwarding that directs data packets based on client roles. Clients can authenticate to local servers at the branch, or to corporate servers at the central site. The network access control capabilities are enabled using a private IP address space for un-authenticated users. Based on successful authentication credentials and not the SSID, users are moved to the appropriate bridged VLAN for the target role. Firewall policies are enforced before, during and after authentication, at both Layer 2 and Layer 3, this rich security model enables the branch with additional flexibility when securing clients and is the optimal fit for the distributed nature of the branch office deployment.
At install, vWLAN® branch, is fully empowered from the main office so there is no need to build out a new network, simply plug in the access points. Network engineers can install from the main office and then travel to an office or even remotely log on to equipment at any remote site in the world and manage and trouble-shoot the network locally.
As with all vWLAN® deployments, vWLAN® branch has integrated RFIDS and wireless troubleshooting tools. This means that with vWLAN® branch deployments, troubleshooting wireless connectivity issues can be easily and efficiently carried out at the corporate office, versus going out to the site to trouble shoot which can be a time consuming task if RFIDS is not integrated.
When deployed in the cloud vWLAN® performs identity based route and bridge forwarding for clients connecting to Bluesocket access points spread across multiple private networks behind any number of NAT-devices. This simplifies wireless network deployments across multiple branches offices—large and small—and further reduces operational network management cost by enabling centralized network management and control.
